JOB LOCATION: Caernarfon / Hybrid

Purpose of the Post.
  • Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Ensure that the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) project Gwynedd Ni isdelivered successfully
  • Assist the Regeneration Project Mannager to support and advice Gwynedd Ni projects

Responsibility for functions . e.g. staff, budgets, equipment
  • Office equipment such as a computer, phone, etc.

Main Duties
  • Work closely with the Regeneration Project Manager to successfully deliver the Gwynedd Ni programme.
  • Provide advice and support to projects and organisations in Gwynedd that have received funding from the Gwynedd Ni programme to ensure compliance with the processes of the programme.
  • Attend meetings and site visits to Gwynedd Ni projects in on behalf of the Regeneration Project Manager.
  • Monitor the achievement and performance of the projects against the agreed financial profiles and outputs, and advise on aspects of the project administration.
  • Prepare written reports on the achievement and performance of Gwynedd Ni projects as required
  • Assist with aspects of the programme’s administration.
  • Develop a communication and engagement programme with the projects to encourage collaboration between organisations.
  • Promote the activities and successes of projects, including the preparation and distribution of press releases, case studies and social media posts that comply with UKSPF and Gwynedd Ni branding guidelines.
  • Responsibility for self-development.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
  • Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.

QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT TRAINING
ESSENTIAL
Degree or similar qualification, or experience of working in a role supporting projects

Qualification or training in project management

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL
Experience in dealing with queries effectively and promptly
Experience of communicating with individuals and groups at a broad level
Experience of working in an office, being part of a team and performing tasks unsupervised

DESIRABLE
Experience of working on projects funded by public grants
Experience in organising meetings or events
Experience in collecting and providing monitoring information to a funding body
Experience in marketing methods including writing press releases and social media posts

SKILLS AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL
Good interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences
ICT literate, comfortable using Word, Excel, and similar programs
The ability to prioritise work
Good mathematical and linguistic skills

DESIRABLE
Knowledge of funding program guidance and good practices in project administration/monitoring.
Knowledge of the area and the objectives of Cyngor Gwynedd

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL
Listening and Speaking – Higher Level
Able to follow a conversation or discussion through the medium of Welsh and English on a professional level and discuss general day to day topics in the field in order to present information and express opinions. Able to give a pre-prepared presentation and respond to any comments and questions on it in Welsh or English.

Reading and Understanding – Higher Level
Able to understand standard written Welsh and English; both formal and informal. Able to gather information from various sources such as letters, reports, articles through the medium of Welsh and English in order to fulfil the post.

Writing – Higher Level
Present written information confidently by letter, more detailed and technical report formats, and respond to written requests conveying information, ideas and opinion in Welsh and English (help is available to check the work).
